Meet David Yankaskas

My father served in the Air Force for 30 plus years. My mom held the fort down with four children in tow, with love, military efficiency, and discipline. My siblings and I as Air Force dependents were uprooted on many occasions and lived on several Air Force bases. This taught me countless things as I grew up. A very important one was to live among a diversity of people on these bases.

I have always been a hard worker. In my younger years I worked many different jobs while attending school at night. Ultimately, combined with my work experience, and prior college education this brought me to the industrial electronics industry.

Working in this industry gave me the opportunity to visit 47 out of the 50 states and travel overseas several times. I began this career in Los Angeles with tenures in Buffalo, Pittsburgh, and ultimately San Diego. Upon my return to San Diego, I went back to school and finished my bachelor’s degree in business management at the University of Redlands.

You might ask what all of this has to do with the insurance industry? Life has a way of changing our course sometimes without warning. I like to think of it as sailing upon uncharted waters. Insurance in all its varieties can protect you and your family during those times.

In 2018 the company I worked for was purchased by another company and I found myself downsized. With this last tenure in the industrial electronics industry, I was ready for a change. This event in my life pushed me on to a new path. I was far from wanting to retire so I went back to school and got my insurance license and most recently my Social Security certification. I bring a generous amount of work and life experience to my clients. Over the last several years I have worked for insurance carriers as well as an independent advisor. As a retirement advisor I know life is never a straight line and you must navigate many different directions to reach your goals. My job is to help you navigate those challenges and keep you on course.
